We’re moving

For the past three years I have had the amazing privilege of working out of a shared commercial kitchen in Campbell.  It was a bit hard to find but I was able to do so much there because of the space and equipment available to me.  After many birthday parties, weddings, and baby showers, my kids have grown and my twins are about to start kindergarten.  May through October are usually my busy season and I spend a lot of time away from my family.  This year, I have decided to slow things down a bit and savor this precious time with my kids.  I am no longer going to be working from a commercial kitchen.  I am in the process of obtaining a Cottage Foods Operation Permit.  This permit allows me to bake from home on a smaller scale.  The permit limits what I can make so there will be changes made to my menu.  All pickups will now be from my home which is located in West San Jose.  I will continue to put out quality products but will no longer have weeks where I take orders upon orders.  Get your order in sooner rather than later as I will be booking up faster.  Thank you for your continued support!

Campbell Bake Sale for Parkinson’s

April is Parkinson’s awareness month so my family and I joined Team Fox.  Team Fox is a community of people commited to raising funds for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.  My husband’s family has had two members pass due to parkinson’s and his father has been living with the disease for a very long time.  Parkinson’s plays a role in my family’s everyday life.  We always keep hope that through some miracle, a cure will be found and his dad will be better.  We know what without action though, that hope only goes so far.  We talked about Team Fox to our 5 year old twin boys and they had the idea to put together a bake sale.  Our first born said “Mommy, I have a great idea!  You can bake cupcakes and we can sell them for money.  We can give that money to the doctors and they can make a medicine that will make Papou(grandpa) feel better.  Then Yia Yia(grandma) will be happy!”  I love his enthusiasm and big heart.  So, here we are, throwing a bake sale!  I hope that you can attend as we will have lots of goodies on the table.  You can also pre-order and pick it up the day of the event.  100% of the sales will go to MJFF.  Our goal is to raise over $1000!  I hope you can help us get there.  Here are the details of the event!

Halloween Hello Kitty Cake Pops

I came across the idea for these a few days ago and fell in love with them.  My Hello Kitty loving daughter was so excited when she saw them that I had to share them.  We just added them to our Halloween Menu.

Halloween Desserts are here!

Fall is our favorite season around here.  The cool breeze from the weather changing outside and the smell of warm spices baking inside gets us excited for all the celebrations coming up.  First up, and for us the most fun, is Halloween!  Growing up Halloween was always a big deal at our house.  I remember decorating the house with my siblings and parents, each year trying to out do the last.  We didn’t go with the cutsie decorations.  There were tombstones and homemade monsters, spider webs and fog surrounding our house at Halloween.  I love being able to continue that tradition with my little ones, although I lean more towards the cutsie decorations.  Another tradition I’ve started with my kids is Halloween baking.  When the weather is cold there is no activity more fun than baking.  Halloween gives kids a great opportunity to go all out.  And at the end, if their creations look less than edible, at least it’s Halloween and it adds to the spookiness.  As much fun as it is, at the end of the month when finishing touches are being added to costumes and school parades are underway, time runs out and it can be stressful hosting a party and doing all the work.  We’ve done part of it for you.  We have created some adorable and spooky treats for you to add to your Halloween dessert table.  All you have to do is open the box and display them for your guests.  Your Halloween party is sure to be a monster smash when your guests take a bite of our mini desserts.  Get your order in early as we’ve been taking Halloween orders since last month!  Check out our Halloween page and email us at sweetlunadesserts@gmail.com with your requests.

Legion of Honor Mini Pie Wedding Dessert Table

We had the pleasure of creating this dessert table for Cindy and Jon back in May.  The ceremony and reception were held at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.  The venue was beautifully transformed from a museum a beautiful reception.  They requested mini pies in a variety of flavors including apple, peach and pecan.  The lovely floral arrangements were created by the fabulous Nancy Liu Chin and additional details like the sweet banner were added by Frances Liu of Charmed Events Group LLC.  The gorgeous photos were taken by Tara of Arrowood Photography.
